Custom Wheels & Roadside Assistance is a tire shop in Irvington, New Jersey. It is listed at 497 Chancellor Ave, Irvington, NJ 07111, which places it among the local businesses of Irvington that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

Tire shops sell and install new tires, patch punctures, balance wheels and, at most locations, align the suspension. Prices are quoted per tire plus mounting, balancing, valve stems and a state disposal fee for the old set; many shops price-match and include free rotation and flat repair for the life of the tire. Used tire shops sell inspected take-offs for a fraction of the price of new ones, useful for an older car or a single replacement, but check the tread depth (4/32 inch or more) and the DOT date code, since rubber ages even on the shelf. Mobile tire services come to your driveway or the roadside, commercial shops handle semi, trailer, farm and off-road tires, and wheel shops repair and refinish bent or curb-scraped rims.

Irvington is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Irvington follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I went to this tire shop to have my tires replaced and the wheels balanced. Before the service, I had no vibration whatsoever with my old tires. After they replaced the tires and balanced the wheels, I immediately started experiencing strong vibration while driving. I went back to the shop, showed them the receipt, and explained that the vibration had not been there before their service. I asked if they could check and fix the issue. Instead of removing the wheels or even checking the balance, the guy at the front desk simply told me that my wheels were bent. He made this conclusion without actually inspecting or testing anything. I found this experience very disappointing. The staff were not communicative, and in my opinion, the service was unprofessional. If you perform a tire installation and balancing and the customer immediately develops a serious vibration that wasn’t there before, the proper thing to do is inspect the work and verify the balance rather than simply blame the wheels without checking them. I do not recommend this tire shop. The prices are also too high for the level of service and customer care I received.

I recently had a bad experience at this tire shop. I went in for a simple tire change, but the mechanic suddenly told me that my tire valve was broken mind you I've been driving my car without air lost in any of my tires and I had to pay an extra $50 to replace the tire valve. I'm extremely dissatisfied and would advise others to avoid this place, as they seem to be scamming people. I even left a tip before this incident, which makes me regret not taking my business (and my money) elsewhere.

Not gonna sugarcoat it—this started off smooth, but here’s the reality. I hit a pothole about a month ago and brought my car in to get the rim repaired. I was told there was a crack and two bends—three total issues. 1 on the outside next to the craxk which was visible to the naked eye and one on the back of therim. I paid to have the entire rim fixed.... Full price... plus laid for the tire. What actually got fixed? Just the crack. One of the bends on the fromt, the visible one—on the inner/back side of the rim (not visible one)—was never properly repaired. That’s the issue that led to my tire going flat and eventually tearing two weeks later. When I brought it back, they immediately tried to say I hit another pothole. I didn’t. I work on my own car, etc—I know the difference between road damage and incomplete repair work. To make that clear, there was a vibration that gradually got worse over those two weeks after the first repair. That’s not what happens from a fresh pothole hit—that’s what happens when a bend isn’t properly fixed and continues to get worse. After going back and forth with the owner for about 30 minutes, pointing out the same issue they claimed was already fixed,

I must say this…..I’ve rode past this shop for years and never knew it existed. Today (9/11/25) is my first time needing their assistance and they have been so good to me!!!! I needed a tire ASAP and Marco and the fellas jumped on it ASAP!!! They had my tire size in stock and got it changed in under 30 minutes. The team is very professional, customer friendly, and they have a waiting area for the customers, WITH AC and a television. They are located directly across from Wendy’s, on Chancellor Ave in Irvington; right before or after the bridge that goes over 78. I added before and after pictures for everyone to see that gash in my tire. THANK YOU CUSTOM WHEELS for assisting me on that fly. I truly appreciate your professionalism and service.
